August 19, 2022:
A trip upriver to visit dead coffee plants

Laura, Aislinn, and Laymon spent some time in December 2022 visiting the herbarium at the Missouri Botanical Garden to study and sample specimens of Rubiaceae in conjunction with collaborator, Dr. Charlotte Taylor. We got to see a first edition Linnaeus publication while we were there!

Welcome, Kathe & Aislinn!


The LagoLab welcomed two new PhD students in Fall 2022. Katherin Arango-Gómez is from Calí, Colombia, where she earned a BS at the Universidad del Valle. Her previous research focused on hybridization in Gesneriaceae. Aislinn Mumford is from Rhode Island, and recently completed an MS degree on domestication of kiwiberry at University of New Hampshire.

Botany 2022: A Success!

The LagoLab attend our first in-person LagoLab conference since January 2022: Botany 2022 in Anchorage, AK! Diego, Laymon, and Janet rocked their first in-person conference talks as graduate students. Congrats, team!!
